During Covid, I returned to (online) school to become a paralegal. I became licensed by the Law Society of Ontario in May 2022 (LSO#P18469).
In July 2023, a Human Rights Tribunal Application I had filed as litigation guardian for my learning-disabled child in November 2016 without a lawyer (or paralegal) against Thames Valley District School Board (TVDSB) was dismissed.
Wading through the red tape and anti-parent culture in Public Education for 7 years, I have amassed at least 1500 pages that tell the truth about how ingrained “parents are not a part of the service provided by Education, only the student,” the policies and legislation are. Powerful enough to force most parents to take what little our children receive and hope they survive the warehouses we send our children to for public education.
